Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • 2007 - St. Teresa school closes, although its church remains open (as of 2015).
  • March 24, 2015 - Buffalo city planners approved renovation plans for a historic church school building by Architect Karl Frizlen. The plan would call for 32 market rate apartments.
    • Frizlen he wants to purchase the school building from the parish along with part of the larger church parking lot about 100 feet away
    • "This building is also eligible for tax credits, so exterior work again will be limited to repairing and repointing brickwork, as needed, and repairing the roof, but Frizlen also hopes to replace all of the windows with historically accurate replicas, subject to approval. The developer also will put in more landscaping around the building, where there is asphalt now, and along the corner of Seneca and Mineral Springs." The Buffalo News
