Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • April 2015 - 'The project was awarded a $282,500 Buffalo Main Street Initiative grant from New York State under the Buffalo Main Street Initiative, which focuses on revitalization of neighborhood commercial districts. Funding is through the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal and administered by the Old First Ward Community Association. Redevelopment plans were prepared by Carmina Wood Morris.' Buffalo Rising
  • October 12, 2016 - Owner Bill Breeser has submitted plans for restoration, which were approved by the Planning Board.
    • Project involves the complete interior and exterior renovation of the property consistent with historic standards, local development plans and neighborhood initiatives. Plans include one first floor commercial unit (2,000 square feet) and three upper story residential units totaling 3,400 square feet.

Other Pertinent Facts

  • Breeser and his architects are seeking designation of a historic district between Niagara Street and the Belt Line Railroad, and are working with the State Historic Preservation Office to advance this objective.
