  • From Preservation Buffalo Niagara, November 4, 2021: ADVOCACY ALERT: SAY NO TO THE DEMO OF 29 MINTON STREET
Today, Thursday, November 4, 2021, the Buffalo Preservation Board meeting includes a demolition request for 29 Minton Street, a 19th century Italianate worker’s cottage in the Filmore District. Unfortunately, the Preservation Board agenda does not include a copy of the submitted demolition application, so we’re unsure of the details of the request. But here’s what we do know, 29 Minton Street was sold by the City of Buffalo to Habitat for Humanity in 2019 for the purpose of “rehabilitate this property and resell to a low to moderate income home buyer.” You can see the details of that sale here: https://buffalony.iqm2.com/Citizens/Detail_LegiFile.aspx....
Now, just two years later Habitat for Humanity is looking to demolish this property. To voice your opposition to this demolition request, you can attend the virtual meeting today at 3pm by clicking this link: https://buffalony.webex.com/buffalony/j.php?MTID=mce68892520b84900536fb86956b4011d; or by calling 1-415-655-0001 and using the Webex meeting number: 173 804 3655 and password HistReview (not required for phone).
BUT DON'T STOP THERE! Take your advocacy against this demolition to the next level (or if you can’t attend the meeting this afternoon) then reach out directly to the following individually to express your opposition:
