History

  • Purity Candy Co. - Per relative Lucy Conti Mitchell, her grandfather George Conti arrived in the US from Sicily in the late 1880’s, learned candy making by touring the US looking for work, came back to Buffalo and worked for the Hall Family making the Crystal Beach suckers, before starting The Purity Candy Company around the 1940s with family.
    • Per a 1939 Buffalo Evening News listing, the candy company existed at 39 Pearl under George, Louis, and Frank Conti
