Physical Description
Three-story red brick former livery stable. A notable feature is the round-topped windows.
Current Condition
Adaptively reused as apartments. The interior and third floor facade were completely replaced. Some window and trim details from the third floor were lost in the renovation project.
History
White’s Livery and Boarding Stables
Recent Events and Actions Taken
- 2008 - Nearly collapsed after years of neglect by former owner. Local citizen activists rallied to save the building from emergency demolition.
- 2013 - Sam Savarino stabilized it (with considerable City funding) and oversaw development, with funding arranged by West Side Neighborhood Housing Services, and has adaptively reused it as an apartment building with a $3.5 million conversion.
