- 1911 - Built as a factory for the Buffalo Electric Vehicle Company
- Later housed a printing business
Recent Events and Actions Taken
- 1990s - Vacant for 15 years
- 2004 - The City of Buffalo invites Artspace to redevelop the building
- 2008 – $17.6 million rehabilitation completed. Project architect: Hamilton Houston Lownie Architects
- 2011 - Artspace demolished an adjacent building at 1217 Main Street that they had previously purchased and invested in with a new roof
