Physical Description
77,400 sq.ft., four story reinforced concrete daylight factory with a fifth story penthouse that sits on a raised basement level. It has an exposed concrete framing system, and large expanses of metal industrial windows with red brick spandrel panels between the structural framing members. History
- Previously known as UB's Bethune Hall. Before that it was the Buffalo Meter Company Building.
- In 1915, the structure was designed and built by Lockwood, Green & Company for the Buffalo Meter Company for $70,800
- In 1971, the State of New York acquired the building from The Singer Company
- In 1973 the building was renovated for use as the SUNY School of Architecture and Design. It was renamed Bethune Hall after Louise Blanchard Bethune, the first professional woman architect in the US.
- In 1993, classes cease and the building was relegated to storage use
Recent Events and Actions Taken
- April 2006 - Meyer Landau finalizes purchase of building and 6 acre property from NYS auction for $384,000 for a now stalled loft conversion plan
- June 2011 - Ciminelli purchased the property from Meyer Landau for $1.05 million for loft conversion
- 2012 - Restoration
- May 2013 - Building gets painted
- August 2013 - Building set to open once certificate of occupancy received

- Carmina Wood Morris, PC is the architect for the $12.5 million 2012 loft project; LP Ciminelli will serve as construction manager.
