History
- Built in 1917.
- Served rail passenger & freight traffic as well as lake ships that would dock alongside
- Abandoned by the railroad in 1962
- Demolished in 1979/1980 to make way for the NFTA’s Metro system
Recent Events and Actions Taken
- March 2016 - NFTA proposes a $42 million reuse project of the train shed to include a passenger station and commercial development. Unfortunately, no recreation of the original passenger station is mentioned.
