Elizabeth Licata, Buffalo Spree, April 2011: In 2006, Buffalo News editorial page editor Mike Vogel listed the Great Northern among Buffalo’s ten most important historic places. (The list also included Breckenridge Street Meeting Hall, Michigan Street Baptist Church, 1833 Buffalo Lighthouse, the Historical Society’s Pan-Am building, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Wilcox Mansion, the Concrete Central Grain Elevator, Forest Lawn Cemetery, the Central Terminal, and the Fireboat Edward M. Cotter.
